Arden Gray, 66, of Bonaparte, died Friday, January 20, 1984 at 3:59 p.m., at his home in Bonaparte.
He was born September 19, 1917 at Farmington, the son of Charles and Ida Mae Weekly Gray.
He married Gertrude House, June 27, 1942 at Bonaparte. She preceded him in death. He later married Jeanette Benjamin on October 24, 1969 at Bonaparte and she survives.
A resident of Bonaparte over 40 years, he was a mechanic at the Fairfield Glove Factory, Bonaparte.
He was a member of the Bonaparte United Methodist Church, the Bonaparte masonic Lodge No. 73 AF & AM, Sargeant-Osweiler American Legion Post, Bonaparte, the Bonaparte Cemetery Association and was a World War II Navy Veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Jeanette Gray of Bonaparte are two daughters, Mrs. Lana Anthony of San Francisco, California and Sandra Parks of Auburn, California; one son, Jim Benjamin of Paradise, California; one nephew, Roger Adkins of Farmington; one niece, Mrs. Kenneth (Joan) Reid of Burlington; two granddaughters and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, two sons, one sister and one brother.
The funeral was held Monday, January 23, 1984 at 1:30 p.m., at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. Burial was in the Bonaparte cemetery. The Rev. James Rozendaal officiated. Masonic rites were held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials went to the First Responders of Bonaparte and the ambulance service at Farmington.
