The body of Mrs. Helen Ardis Barker, 38, of Burlington was discovered at 8pm Sunday, June 19 in her home. She apparently died of gunshot wounds according to police who are investigating. Mrs. Barker, the former Helen Ardis Fisher, the daughter of Goldie and the late Clarence Fisher of Milton is a 1945 graduate of the Milton High School. She married Glen Barker in 1949 and had resided in Burlington for 18 years. She had been employed at the Iowa Ammunication plant for 10 years. Survivors include two sons Timothy Lynn and Eric Alan at home; her mother Mrs. Fisher; two sisters Mary Louise Short and Mavis Stookesberry both of Milton; a brother Lloyd Fisher of Pulaski; a nephew and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father in 1965. Services were held June 22 in Milton and burial was in the Lebanon cemetery.
