Wendell Jay Dickerson, 49, of Keosauqua died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2007 at home. He was born Feb. 20, 1958 in Keosauqua to Willard and Helen Park Dickerson. He married Alice Scearcy Nov. 15, 1980.
He graduated from Harmony High School in 1976 and lived his life in Van Buren County. Jay had worked at Dexter Co., Fairfield since 1990.
He was a member of Fairfield Church of Latter Day Saints, was a Past Master of Keosauqua Lodge No. 10, AF & AM, a member of Twin City Chapter No. 258, OES, Douds, was a York and Scottish Rite Mason and had been a Shriner, DeMolay and Rainbow Dad and a member of Ottumwa and Mt. Pleasant Shrine Clubs.
Surviving are his wife, three sisters, Connie Douglas and Phyllis Haynes in Florida and Cynthia Conner of Iowa City, a brother, Forrest Dickerson in Florida, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Crystal Dickerson.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Elder Bill Huntoon officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte Cemetery. Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 33, Keosauqua, IA 52565
