Helen M. Dickerson, 95, of Pinellas Park, Florida died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Pinellas Park, Florida.
She was born in Mt. Sterling on August 22, 1911 the daughter of Ira Franklin and Jeannie M. (Allen) Park. She married Willard (Bill) Dickerson in November 1935. He died on March 3, 1982.
They lived part of their married life in Ohio, but mostly in Iowa. Helen and Bill lived in the Bonaparte area where he managed the Sloan Dairy Farm and local blacksmith. Then she lived in the Keosauqua area and finally moved to Floriday with her daughter, Phyllis, son Forrest, and daughter, Connie.
She attended school in Mt. Sterling and high school in Farmington. She also acquired several piano lessons over the years, which was a joy in her life. She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed her needles work and her loving family.
She is survived by five children; Mrs. Robert (Connie F.) Hill Douglas of Pinellas Park, Florida, Mrs. Chester (Phyllis E.) Haynes of Deland, Florida, Forrest L. Dickerson of Deland, Florida, Mrs. Cynthia (DeeDee) Conners of Iowa City, and W. Jay Dickerson of Keosauqua, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Dickerson in December, 2006.
A graveside service for Helen M. Dickerson, 95, of Pinellas Park, Florida will be held at the Bonaparte Cemetery on November 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. She died August 18, 2007. The body was cremated. Rev. Richard Eis will officiate.
