Laura Belle Owings,daughter of John William and Hannah Rupe Owings was born April 9,1864, at Mt. Sterling,IA and died at her home in Bonaparte,Ia Sept 28,1951 at the age of 87 years , 5 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage Aug 44,1881, with Eli Hill and to this union two children were born, Rosa Mae and Harry. Mr and Mrs Hill moved to their farm near Bentonsport soon after they were married and lived there until Mr. Hill died April 15,1932. A few years later Mrs. Hill moved to Bonaparte to be near her son Harry and his wife Lila. Mrs. Hill's daughter Rosa Mae Henry died in 1910 leaving four children who she raised to maturity. Death however overtook three of them Mildred, Stanley, and Mable leaving only June. Mrs. Hill was one of four children, two sisters and one brother all of whom with her parents preceded her in death.
