Augustus C. Rehkopf and was born July 17th, 1837, in Edesheim, Kingdom of Hanover, Germany and died of heart trouble at his home near Pierceville, Iowa, January 20, 1905, aged 67 years, 6 months and 3 days.

At 17 years of age he, with the parents came to America, stopping at Memphis, Tenn., July 4, 1854, and from there to Bentonsport in September 1857, where he worked at the cabinet trade for 17 years, afterward removing to the farm where he remained until death came.

He married Miss Louisa Siemon October 11, 1860 at Keosauqua, Iowa, and to them were born 11 children, two daughters preceding him in death. He leaves the dutiful wife to mourn with the children.

He was a kind husband, an indulgent father, one of the best of neighbors, respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held Sunday morning, Jan. 22, at the home, in charge of the Rev. Geo. H. Wehn and interment was made in the Bentonsport graveyard.

There were a great many present, showing of the esteem, in which Mr. Rehkopf was held.
