DEATH'S DOINGS
From the Loveland Register.

Wm. W. Carr died at his home in this city Thursday, and was buried in Lakeview cemetery Sunday afternoon. The funeral was from the home on East Third street.

William W. Carr was born in Belmont Co., Ohio, January 1, 1836. At the age of fourteen he moved with his parents to Iowa where they lived until 1854. Then he moved to California where he engaged in the mining industry three years. Again he took up his abode in Iowa for two years or more being engaged in the merchandise business. Then he came to Colorado where he engaged in mining until the breaking out of the Civil War in 1861. He enlisted in the 1st Colorado Regiment, Co. H. under Captain George Sanborn. The time of his service in the war was something like three years.

Being wounded in 1862 he was on detached duty as scout and received his honorable discharge in Denver, Colorado in January 1863. After his discharge he returned to Iowa and was engaged in farming. In December, 1864, he was married to Sarah J. Cartnail who has been his constant companion since that time until his recent death. Disposing of his property in Iowa he came to Colorado in 1902. He died at 9 a.m., December 8th, 1904.

Mr. Carr had been married forty-two years, and is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Carr, and five children; John Carr of Iowa, Ralph Carr and Mrs. Lizzie Marfh of South Dakota and Mrs. Addie Weekly and Mrs. Nellie Clymer of Loveland.

Mr. Carr was raised in the Catholic Church, but during his residence here had not join any denomination. Rev. E. E. Violett of the Christian church officiated at the funeral, which was largely attended. Members of the G. A R. escorted the remains to the cemetery.
