Arlie G. Kerr, 88, of Loveland, CO, died Jan. 5, 2002, at Fort Collins Health Care Center. He was born Feb. 25, 1913, in Bonaparte, Iowa, to George Martin Kerr and Sadie Lawrence Kerr. He attended schools in Bonaparte. He moved to the Fort Collins-Loveland area in 1955. Mr. Kerr worked on the kill floor of the Loveland Packing Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1978. He also worked in vacuum cleaner repair for Kirby Sales and Service in Loveland and Fort Collins for 30 years. Mr. Kerr served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during World War II. He enjoyed camping, fishing, home repair and carpentry. He is survived by special friend Kathy Horne of Loveland; a son, Jim Kerr and wife Eileen of Mitchell, S.D.; two daughters, Joyce Douglas and fiance Armand Granata, Fort Lupton, and Melody Horne of Loveland; a sister Trudy Lockwood of Winter Haven, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Allnutt-Hunter Chapel. Cremation will take place.
