The funeral of A. E. Musgrave occurred from the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. G. C. Goodenough conducting the services. The floral offerings were elaborate. A mammoth piece--the Gates Ajar--from the Business Men's Association, and a wreath from the city council, being unusually large and beautiful. The attendance was practically the entire population, those not able to crowd into the house waiting outside. The business houses were closed and the whole community united to pay tribute of their sympathy to his memory and to that of Robert Coulter, whose funeral occurred an hour later at the M. E. Church. A more eloquent testimony of affection and esteem could not have been shown.

Alfred Edmond Musgrave was born at Little Bras Dar, Cape Breton, Canada, Feb. 20, 1848. He married Janie McDonald November 3d, 1875. Came to the United States in 1880 and to Farmington in 1886. He has served in the capacity of Justice of the Peace for several years, where he has given so many examples of his probity, integrity and uprightness of character that he has endeared himself to the whole community. The sacrifices and kindness he has done for others burst into vine and bloom upon his bier and will gem is memory with tears and holy remembrance in all the years to come. He united with the Congregational church in 1894 and died at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, in the full faith and knowledge of those whose work is well done.

Mr. Musgrave leaves a wife and three children; Dr. Geo. Musgrave, located at Cincinnati, Ia; Edward Musgrave at Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Mrs. Dr. Paisley of this city. Two sisters also survive him; Mrs. Robert Rice in Nova Scotia, Canada, and Mrs. Charles Hackett at Victoria, B. C. But the friends to mourn are legion.

[Note: A. E. Musgrave and Robert Coulter were killed on Second Street and Elm Street, Farmington by Geo. J. Stillwell according to newspaper stories recapping the event.]
