R. W. Coulter, who passed away at 12:20 noon, was 59 years of age. For fourteen years he has been night watchman in this city, and eighteen months ago he was elected marshal. He was a brave man and never hesitated to go where duty called and although during his career he has been in many tight places he was never before injured. Coulter was a civil war veteran, having served before Vicksburg and was with Sherman and his march to the sea. He leaves a sorrowing wife and two sons, Frank and Truman Coulter.
The funeral of Mr. Coulter occurred from the M. E. church directly after that of Mr. Musgrave's. The large edifice was filled to overflowing with sympathizing friends. Services were conducted by Revs. Taylor, Wehn, and Barnett of the M. E. faith, and Elder James McKernan n of the Latter Day Saints. Many beautiful flowers and floral offerings were evidence of the love and high esteem in which the deceased was held.
