MRS. ROBERT SEAMAN DIED LAST SATURDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Seaman, who died at her home in Des Moines twp. Saturday of last week, were held in the Keosauqua Christian church Monday, afternoon, April 28, conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Tennant, pastor of the Methodist church at Deep River, Iowa, assisted by the Rev. Jesse A. Monkman, pastor of the Keosauqua M. E. church. Interment was made in the Fellows cemetery south of town.
Margaret Jones was born in Ohio Dec. 26; 1839, and died at her home near Keosauqua, Iowa, April 26, 1919, aged 79 years and 4 months.
She came with her parents from Ohio, in 1855, and in the same year was united in marriage to Henry King, locating on a farm in Mercer county, Mo.
To this union were born four children: Morris, of Brunea, Idaho; Ohio, of Meridian, Idaho; Mrs. Jalina M. Murphy of Keosauqua, and Henry V., who died at the age of two years.
Her husband died April 7, 1863. She moved to Iowa, and on Nov. 19, 1874, was married to Robert Seaman, and to this union four children were born; J. J. of Milton, Mrs. Anna Woodin Cantril, Mrs. Sophia Ellis of Keosauqua and Nell who is still at home. She leaves to mourn their loss beside her children, twenty two grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two brothers, and four sisters. George Jones of Jamesport, Missouri, Luther Jones of Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Rachel Bixler of Harrison, Neb, Mrs. Mary E. Courtright of Spokane Wash., Mrs. G. W. Davidson of Keosauqua Iowa, Mrs. Ella J. Funk of Boise, Idaho and a host of friends and neighbors.
She united with the Christian church in Keosauqua, Iowa, a great many years ago remaining a faithful Christian to the end, deeply regretting her inability to attend the services of the church through her declining years.
