CHARLES FRANKLIN DAVIDSON

Charles Franklin Davidson was born May 24, 1873, in Highland Co., Ohio, and departed this life on January 29, 1923 at the age of 49 years, 8 months and 5 days, he being the second son of John R. and Harriett Davidson.

He moved to this state at the age of 18 months and remained here with the exception of about 2 years in North Dakota, thence moving back to his old home and remaining until Jesus called him home.

He was married March 20, 1899, to Hattie J. Arnold, she being the youngest child of B. A. and Sarah J. Arnold. To this union five children were born, Mrs. Irena S. Armstrong, age 21; Opal Emma, age 18; Chancie Earnest, age 16; Willa Ethel and Virgil Louise, age 10.

All were present with the exceptions of Willa Ethel who preceded him in death April 7th, 1911, at the age of 8 months and 7 days, and his loving mother and only brother, John Wesley, who preceded him in the year 1893.

Those living who are left to mourn his departure, are his wife and four children, an aged father 80 years old, one uncle and one aunt and distant relatives and a host of friends.

Charles was a loving husband, father and son, and a friend to all whom he met, and no enemies to leave behind. One vacant chair at the table, also the silent footsteps and loving voice which were so often heard.

He entered Elliott’s Business College and from there was graduated in 1898. He then clerked in a store until he commenced farming, which was his main occupation, until he became interested as a mechanic and spent the latter part of his life at that work.

Although he had made no profession, he was a strong believer in God, and expressed his desire to unite with the church as soon as he could fully make up his mind to be a pure Christian, for he never believed in mockery.

He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge for a number of years. Although of late years he had not the opportunity to attend on account of financial affairs and sickness in the family. If God had spared him he was going to be reinstated this spring.

May God bless him and claim him as his own until we all meet in Heaven.

We desire to express our thanks to the friends and neighbors for their help and kindness, also for the beautiful floral offerings.
-His loving wife, children, and father.
