Mrs. Carrie Hornbaker, wife of Frank Hornbaker, died at their home near Bonaparte, Iowa, April 19, 1896, aged 26 years, 7 months and 22 days.
Deceased was born in Selma, Iowa, August 27, 1869. Her maiden name was Carr. She resided in Selma until 1886, when she moved with her father's family to Farmington township, where she made her home until 1894.

She was married to B. F. Hornbaker Oct. 24, 1894. To this union one child was born, a daughter, who with her companion, remains to mourn their loss, also her mother, five brothers and one sister. She was a woman beloved by all who knew her and the sympathy of the people of the community is extended to her husband in his bereavement.

The funeral took place at the home on Tuesday, April 21, 1896, Rev. Geo. W. Barber, of Lacey, Iowa, conducting the service, after which her body was laid to rest in the Farmington cemetery.
