The West Point Bee contains the following, relative to the death of T. M. Lowry, our former Handle Factory manager: "Mr. Lowry was taken ill Thursday, but recovered sufficiently to be about again. Friday night he had another attack of convulsions, and it required the combined efforts of from five to seven people to restore respiration after one of the convulsions All night Friday friends labored earnestly to ease Mr. Lowry's pain, and had so far succeeded that he was reported much better Saturday morning, and it was thought that he had passed the critical point. Mr. Lowry, however, grew worse during the afternoon and evening and passed quietly away, his wife being present the last few hours to minister to his wants, having arrived at 8 o'clock. During his short residence here Mr. Lowry had, by his open and frank demeanor, ingratiated himself in the hearts of many, and he was universally esteemed. As a token of respect the baseball association passed resolutions of respect at a meeting held last evening. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the relatives in their sad bereavement.

News of the sudden death of Thos. M. Lowry, at West Point, last Saturday, surprised our citizens on Sunday morning when the telegram arrived. He had suddenly taken ill Friday evening and died the next day. This is indeed a sad blow to Mrs. Lowry, who has the sympathy of our entire community.

Thomas McPhearson Lowry was born in Carrol Co., near Carleton, Mo., July 22, 1868, and died at West Point, Ia., Saturday, July 2, 1898, aged 29 years, 11 months and 11 days.

He was married at Gault, Mo., in 1891, to Miss Minnie C. Pierce, and, with her, he leaves a mother, six half-brothers and a host of friends to mourn his untimely death.

The remains were removed to Wheeling, Mo., the home of his mother, where interment took place at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.

Mr. Lowry and his estimable wife made their home in Bonaparte for some time, and his pleasant, generous disposition made him numerous friends. He was a member of the M. E. church at this place and a tireless worker for its prosperity.
