Mrs. Edwin Mankin

Loretta B. Rockefellow, the daughter of DeWitt and Mary Rockefellow, was born February 28, 1874, in Vernon, Iowa and passed away at Sacred Heart hospital, Ft. Madison, Iowa, June 18, 1944, aged 70 years, 3 months and 18 days.

On October 7, 1893, she was united in marriage with Edwin C. Mankin. They resided in the vicinity of Bonaparte, 19 years, moving to Brookpark, Pine county, Minn., residing there 30 years and returning to Iowa Sept. 1, 1943. She is survived by her husband, a foster son, Verne Shaske and wife and son, Donald; two sisters, Mrs. Alice McCay of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Mrs. Carrie Lowe of Bonaparte, Iowa, eight nephews and seven nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, one brother, Walter and one sister, Mrs. Belle McComb.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bonaparte Methodist church, Rev. E. E. Niederhuth officiating, with interment in Vale cemetery.

Those from a distance attending the funeral are Mrs. Alice McCoy, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Shaske, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Poling of Ft. Madison, and George B. McComb.

[Loretta was my Grandmother Carrie Rockefellow Lowe's sister. I would like to hear from anyone connected to this family.]
