Sanford Doud
Father of Thirty-One ChildrenSanford Doud, fifty years a settler of Iowa, died at Eldon at the age of 87. He was the father of thirty-one children-five by his first wife, ten by the second and sixteen by the third.
He was born in Susquehanna county, Pa., and moved in 1842 to Van Buren county. He was made a Mason sixty years ago and was buried with Masonic honors. Twenty-eight of his children survive him.
