Thomas Shelby Myers, son of James and Ollie Mccarty was born May 9, 1898 at Mt. Zion, Van Buren County Iowa. He died May 09, 1930.
He spent his childhood days in Mt. Zion, uniting with the Presbyterian church.
On July 23, 1921, he united in marriage with Miss Marguirite Jameson of Keosaqua, and to them 3 children were born: Thomas Edward, Donavan Perdell and Margie Lou.
He was working for the Rock Island Railroad and afterwards went into farming when he moved to Agency and later to Eldon, Iowa.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, 3 children, his father and mother, 4 brothers, Charles of Douds, Lig of Des Moines, William of Eldon and Clyde of Mt. Zion. Also 4 sisters, *Mrs. Malen Lensford Adams Louis Sellwood (Helen Myers)of Ottumwa, Mrs. George Houdyshell (Kate Myers) of Mt. Zion, Mrs. John Parker (Anna Josephine Myers) of Mt. Zion, and Tillie Myers of Mt. Zion. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Sunday May 11 at 2pm. Rev. M.D. Cox officiating, pastor of the M.E. Church of Keosaqua, Iowa. Burial was in Pardum Cemetery at Keosaqua.
