Keosauqua - Mrs. Josephine Cocherell, 90, died April 28, at 4:30 p.m., at her home in Keosauqua. Death was due to a stroke, suffered April 23. Two years ago, Mrs. cockerel suffered a broken hip, and had been an invalid since then.
A life resident of Van Buren County, Mrs. Cocherell was the daughter of Joshua Cook and Julia Wirt, and was born at Vernon on August 6, 1861. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and was the last member of her family. Her husband, William Cocherell; two sons, Arthur and Curt Cocherell, and for brothers and sisters, died previously.
Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Martha Cocherell who lived with Mrs. Cocherell, and Mrs. Grace Cocherell, of Bonaparte. Also surviving are three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Burnett-Ccatcott funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Reverend Burton C. Basstucheck, pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Purdum Cemetery.
