Mrs Sarah Long, whose maiden name was Sarah Jackson, died at her home in Pittsburg, Iowa, June 6, 1912, aged 63 years, 3 months and 13 days.
She was born in Warren County, Ohio, Feb. 23, 1844. She lived in that state for 30 years. When at 22 years of age she was married to James Long at Level, Ohio. To this union 5 children were born, Olive who died in childhood, Myrtle who is new Mrs Charles Schreckengost, Forest,Clyde,and Otto, all of whom now live near Pittsburg. Aside from her four children and fourteen grandchildren, who feel keenly her loss, she is survided by 3 sisters and a brother who live in distant states. Mrs Long had lived in Van Buren County for 38 years and was a member of the Methodist Church for over half a century. Her rooms was the resting place for preachers. Probably no one appreciated more than Mrs Long the revival of interest and religion in the Pittsburg church. The funeral was preached by G G Ellis, assisted by W A Odell.
