Mrs. Sarah Dawson.
After a sickness of several weeks Mrs. Sara Dawson quietly passed away and her spirit returned to the God who gave it, March 28.
Miss Sara Sartore was born January 26?, 1825, near Friendship, Alleghany county, New York; moved with her parents to Lee county, Iowa, in 1845; was united in marriage to Peyton Dawson, August 17, 1849, at Summitville, Iowa. Her husband departed this life Oct. 21, 1901. To this union was born ten children, eight of whom survive her: Lucinda, Mrs. Frank Newson, Mrs. James Kennedy, W. S. and W. B. all of Big Mound; Commodore of La Crew, Iowa, L. M. of Stronghurst, Ill., and Mrs. Hiram Druse, Revere, Mo., also eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was converted when quite young and united with the Christian Church at Big Mound, Iowa, in 1861. She lived a quiet consistent Christian life, rearing a large family in the fear and admiration? Of the Lord.
