Henry L. Kimmel, 90, of Milton died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 1993 at his home. He was born March 19, 1903 near Birmingham to John and Louisa Miner Kimmel. He married Rena Magorian. They were divorced. He married Genevieve Gilbert Jones, June 30, 1953 in Centerville.
He lived his life in Van Buren County, the past 26 years in Milton. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, working on road construction.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Joseph, Francis, David and Lonnie all of Burlington; three daughters, Florence White, Coralville, Lois Swank, Kalona and Barbara Seifkin, West Burlington; stepson, Donald Rinaberger, Fairfield; three step-daughters, Betty Mead, Forsythe, Missouri, Linda Griggs, Crescent Springs, Kentucky and Jewell Scott, Scott City, Missouri; 35 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Marietta Canady, Fairfield, Ruth McGill, Davenport, Helen Leyden, Washington, Eleanor Stalder, Brighton and Edith Fisher, Peoria, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Haynes; three brothers, Paul, George, and Fred Kimmel; and a sister Lucy McGaffey.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 26 at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Reverend Gerald Coughron officiating. Burial was in Kilbourn Cemetery. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
