Last Illness Started With Influenza Attack- Funeral At Pittsburg

Albert W. McGaffey, 75 years old, died at 4:25 Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ross Ramsey, where he & Mrs. McGaffey had been living. He had been ill for the last five weeks, the illness beginning with an attack of influenza and developing complications.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Methodist church at Pittsburg, a small town near Keosauqua. The funeral party will go there Wednesday morning.

Mr. McGaffey was born at Constantine, Mich. August 15, 1853, a son of David and Jane (Drummond) McGaffey. He was married to Olive Haney November 15, 1876, and they made their home at Pittsburg, Iowa, until they came here (Washington, Iowa) nine years ago.

He leaves his widow and two sons, C.W. McGaffey of Battle Lake, Minn., D.A. McGaffey of Washington, and one daughter, Mrs. Ross Ramsey of Washington. One brother, Charles, lives at Keosauqua, and a sister, Mrs. Addie Miles, at Fairfield.

Early in life Mr. McGaffey united with the Methodist church and held his membership in the church where he lived the greater part of his life and from which he will be buried.

It was announced today that the casket will be opened to friends this evening and Tuesday at the L.A. Jones funeral home (Washington).
