Oliver Langford was born January 17, 1862 in Van Buren county, Iowa, and died at his home in Oakland, CA following an illness resulting from a stroke of paralysis in July, 1927. His age being 67 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was the fourth son of Perry and Hannah Langford.

On December 31, 1891 he was united in marriage to Harriet E. Ellis. To this union were born five daughters and three sons of whom seven are living. Tillman R. preceding his father in death just ten days.

He leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife and seven children: Mrs. S.E. Else, Des Moines, IA; Mrs. D.B. Denning, Oakland, CA; Mr. Arch Langford, Keosauqua, IA; Mrs. W. F. Lagerstrom, Oakland, CA; Faye, James and Frede at home; also seven grandchildren, one brother and one sister and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Langford had lived all his life in the county where he was born until a year ago last November when he moved to Oakland, CA where he resided until the time of his death.

He was a kind and loving husband and a devoted father, whose place will never be filled. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Order No. 288 of Cantril, Iowa.

Funeral services were held in the Merit funeral home, April 22 at 2:30 p.m. under the auspices of the I.O.O.F. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery of Oakland.
