Jonathan Langford 1855-1906

ALLGOOD, HULL, LANGFORD

Posted By: Harold & Mary Hull (email)
Date: 9/20/2007 at 15:06:36

Jonathan Langford was born Oct. 3, 1855 and died Oct. 18, 1906 aged 51 years and 15 days. He is survived by a wife, an aged mother, two brothers and two sisters, his father, two brothers and one sister having preceded him to the world beyond. He was married Feb. 14, 1904 to Mrs. Mary Allgood, with whom he lived in happy union until death called him away. He was a devoted husband, loving brother and kind hearted neighbor on whom no one called for assistance and were refused. He would divide the last dollar or the last morsel with his fellow man if need be. He may have had his faults, but one thing is certain, he had more good qualities than bad ones and it would require many columns to record his many acts of kindness.

“The labors of his life are past,

Pain and suffering have ceased.

With life’s stern warfare closed at last,

His soul now rests in peace.”

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Hays of Mt. Zion, the interment being in the Boston cemetery.
