B.B. Burchett Sr. Dies From Stroke of Paralysis. Was an Early Pioneer, a Respected and Well-To-Do Citizen
WAS NEARLY 90 YEARS OF AGE

The death of Father B.B. Burchett occurred at the home of his son D.L. Burchett, Sunday morning April 3, 1904. Father Burchett was one of the old pioneers of this county of which few remain. He was born in Virginia in 1816. Was 87 years 5 months and 18 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Nancy A. Wilson on November 26, 1840, at her home in Morgan County Ohio, and in the fall of 1846 brought his family to Van Buren County Iowa, settling where the present site of Milton is now located. In 1862 he moved to the gold fields of Montana, but returned to Davis County, Iowa in 1868. To this union there were born seven sons and four daughters all of whom are now living. At an early age Mr. Burchett united with the M.E. Church, of which his wife was a member at the time of their marriage. Thirty-four years ago he, with his wife, united with the Christian Church, in which for years he was an elder. His membership at the time of death was at Moulton Iowa. He received a stroke of paralysis at the depot in Moulton, while waiting for the train, which was to bring him to Bloomfield. Of this stroke he died four days later. He has been a member of the Masonic fraternity for years, holding his membership with the lodge at Moulton, which order will have charge of the burial. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Wickizer.
I am not a relative.
