Foster A. Brewer
MILTON - Foster A. Brewer, 75, of Milton died Sept. 20, 1986, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.
He was born June 8, 1911, in Davis County to Kirby Smith and Blanche Work Brewer. He married Grace Alexander Nov.15, 1933, in Keokuk. He graduated from Milton High School in 1930 and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milton. He was an employee of Goodrich Tire Company Quint Service in Galesburg, Ill., and was formerly sexton of Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Joe of Galesburg; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Zola Kirkhart of Cantril and Zora Grinnell of Burlington. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Wenstrom in November 1979 and Gertrude Hall on Oct. 26, 1986. (This is incorrect; Gertrude died Aug. 26, 1986.)
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Milton, the Rev. Andrew Rubinking officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. today at Prieser Funeral Chapel in Milton.
Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society and the Milton Methodist Church.
