Mrs. May Moore Foster, daughter of Joseph and Mary Moore, was born September 8, 1884, near Milton Iowa, and departed this life May 30, 1936, at the age of 51 years, 8 months and 21 days.
She lived with her parents on a farm until 1903 when they moved to Milton.
At the age of 13 she united with the Presbyterian Church at Lebanon.
On October 20, 1904, she was united in marriage with Clarence Foster. To this union was born one daughter, Julia Maxine, on October 9, 1910.
She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Milton and was actively interested in the different organizations affiliated with the church. She had served as leader of the choir, secretary and pianist of the Sunday school, and had been elected shortly before her death to the office of Elder, one of the highest honors of the church.
She was a member of the P.E.O Sisterhood, of the Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine. She endeared herself to a host of friends through the activities of her social life.
Following a major operation in the spring of 1935, she suffered at various times the ill effects of poor health, which finally led to her recent sickness and confinement to her home for the last three months.
She leaves to mourn her death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Moore, her daughter Mrs. W.W. King of Hancock Iowa; one aunt Mrs. Ruth Moore; two uncles Mr. Ed Moore and Mr. Frank Robinson, a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Moore home Monday afternoon at two o’clock in charge of Dr. L.B. Harmon, of Fairfield, pastor of the Milton Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Hollis Moore, John Fisher, Wendell King, Joe Moore, Albert Casady and Wylie King.
Interment was in the Milton Sunnyside Cemetery. I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who might find this person in their family history.
