J. Nelson Stubbs was born November 10, 1839, in Milton Iowa, and lived here about all his life. March 1879, he and his surviving wife were united in marriage in the state of Missouri. To this union were born two children, the first an infant dying when only a day old, and Leota, a son now present to attend the farewell memorial of his father.
After months of declining health he closed up his life here on June 29th, 1927, at 7:10 p.m.. He was at the time of his death 77 years, 7 months and 19 days old.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife Ida May Stubbs, Leota his son, a half brother Harry Harring, two grandchildren Pauline and Howard Stubbs, and a large company of friends. He was a member of the Methodist church so expressed his faith in God and his desire for a peaceful eternal life.
The funeral was held from the home Thrusday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.C. Caughlan, interment in the Milton Sunnyside cemetery. I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who might find this person in their family history.
