Nancy Harman, daughter of John and Hannah Harman was born in Noble County, Ohio, August 6, 1828 and passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Chalfont in Milton Iowa, December 18, 1924 at the ripe old age of 96 years, 4 months and 12 days. She is the last one of a family of fourteen children. She moved to Iowa with her parents in the year of 1848 and settled on a farm three and one-half miles north east of Milton, where she lived until her marriage to Onias Hale in 1860. They located on a farm one half mile east of Milton.
To this union no children were born although she reared four step-children, namely, A.H. Hale, Mrs. N.N. Beckley, Mrs. J.J. Rhodes and E.W. Hale of Milton. Her husband and Mrs. Beckley passed away many years ago. After the death of her husband she continued to live on the farm until the spring of 1909, when she broke up housekeeping and since that time she made her home with relatives until two years ago. She went to the home of Mrs. Chalfont who tenderly cared for her until her death. She leaves many nieces and nephews and a host of friends to mourn her departure. I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who might find this person in their family history.
