Dr. Solomon C. Franks - Died last Thursday. Had a son, C. P. Franks. Dr. Franks was son of Peter & Julia Fletcher Franks and was born near Maysville, OH on April 24, 1837. He was the youngest, but one, of a family of 9 children. Two older brothers survive him. Graduated Starling College, Columbus, OH at age 23. Married Miss Minerva Nixon in 1871. Six children: Mrs. Hattie Rockey of Sugnache, CO: Mrs. Alta McCutcheon of Auburn, WA; Wm. N. Franks, Atlantic, IA; Mrs. Anna McCracken, Bonaparte; Clarence P. Franks of Farmington, IA and Mrs. Jennie F. Sawyers of Hannibal, MO, all of whom with wife, 23 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild survive. To Bentonsport in 1879 and to Farmington in 1895. Died September 5, 1912, age 75 years, 4 months, 12 days. F-Farmington Cemetery, Farmington.
