Mrs. Mary Anne Workman Carter - Born at St. Clairsville, Belmont Co., OH on February 23, 1845. She was left an orphan at an early age. Relatives supplied the places of her lost parents as she had no brothers or sisters. Married William H. Carter in September 1865. Three children: Robert W. who died August 1868; Millie now Mrs. Edward Bonbright of Portland, OR; Wm. H. Carter of Bentonsport. Also leaves 4 grandsons and one little granddaughter. She died July 31. 1908. Relatives attending funeral were: R. S. Carter of Montrose; Mr. & Mrs. John Burkholder of Ft. Madison; Mr. & Mrs. Hollingshead of Knoxville, IA and Mr. Gilchrist and daughter of Davis Co., IA. F-Bentonsport Cemetery, Bentonsport.
