Mrs. Elizabeth Williamson Kean 1822-1907

Mrs. Elizabeth Williamson Kean - Mrs. J. A. Kean, Elizabeth Williamson, daughter of Francis and Eva Williamson was born Sciota Co., OH December 26, 1822. When 8 years old her father's family moved to Indianapolis, IN where they resided until fall of 1838, then to farm near Bonaparte. Married April 8, 1841 to Joseph A. Kean. Mrs. Kean was the first woman married in Bonaparte. Seven children, 3 sons and 4 daughters. One daughter, Mary, and 3 sons, Lewis, Charles and Arthur, died in infancy. Three daughters grew to womanhood: Nellie M., Emma, and Carrie. Carrie married Rev. G. W. Barber November 28, 1871 and died June 25, 1906, leaving 1 son, Harry J. Barber. Nellie & Emma survive. Their father, J. A. Kean, died August 5, 1904. Leaves 2 daughters: Nellie M. and Emma Kean of Bonaparte, one grandson, Harry J. Barber, of Sioux City, IA and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ray of Boyd, OK and Mrs. Louisa Boyer of Goshen, MO., also one brother Aaron Williamson of Placerville, CA. Died at Bonaparte January 7, 1907 age 87 years, 11 days.
