Thomas Hales - Died December 9, 1904. Mr. Hales was born in Carroll Co., Ohio on August 18, 1822. Age 82 years, 3 months, 21 days. Twice married. Married first wife, Sarah J. Watson, in Ohio November 23, 1843. She was the mother of 9 children. She died in Vernon Twp. November 19, 1889. Second marriage to Elizabeth Blackledge at Mechanicstown, Ohio on February 5, 1891. Mr. Hales resided in Van Buren Co. from Spring 1864.- In May 1896 moved to Keosauqua. Of nine children. born to first marriage, all but the eldest are now living and 3 were with their father when he died. Leaves a widow and 8 of the 9 children that were born to him. F-Center Chapel Cemetery, Keosauqua.
