Maximilian Sigmound Mahler - Born Munich, Bavaria Germany October 14, 1842. Died December 6, 1904. Age 62 years, 1 month, 22 days. Entered German Army but purchased a substitute in 1863 and left for America settling at Portland, ME. Married October 15, 1865 to Rosina Ritter at Bentonsport. Eleven children, 3 sons, 8 daughters all of whom are alive, as well as Mrs. Mahler. Children are: Edmund Chares of Joliet, Montana; Mrs. Rosa King of Ottumwa; Mrs. Eugina Hayes of Sonora, IA; Misses Pauline and Mary Mahler of Grinnell and Mrs. Emma Baugher, Fred, Frank and Misses Anna, Katherine and Theressa Mahler of Bonaparte. Died December 6, 1904. 62 years, 1 month, 22 days. F-Bonaparte Cemetery, Bonaparte.
