Charles E. Newlon - Born Culpepper Co., VA on March 12, 1820 and died at his home in Bentonsport June 22, 1904. 84 years, 3 months, 10 days. To Ohio at age 16 years and married Miss Margareta Stewart in 1843. Children: John of the Army, and Mrs. Lucy Robbins of Rockford, IL. To Iowa and settled near Mt. Pleasant in 1845 and in 1847 his wife died. About 1850 to Bentonsport. In 1857 married Miss Nancy E. Cresswell. To them 3 children were born: Dora, Kate, Charlie, Kate having died 14 years ago. Dora and Charlie live Bentonsport. Surviving are his wife, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
