JOHN ED NEFF
------------
John Ed Neff passed away Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7, at the age of 79 years and 23 days, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Maggie Story of Farmington. He was the second son of the late George and Lucinda Neff, and was born Oct. 15, 1857, in Clark county, Mo. He lived here a number of years, providing and caring for his aged mother, until failing health compelled him to move with his mother to the home of his sister in Farmington in 1919, at which place the mother passed away. The kind and loving tenderness of sisterly love was constantly gven [sic] by the sister, Mrs. Maggie Story, uncomplainingly she bestowed her love for her brother for many years of faithful care and kindness. Just ten months ago Mrs. Story went through this same sad crisis, at which time her husband passed to the great beyond.

John Ed was converted in 1886 a short time after the passing of his father and later in life was united with the Nazarene church at Farmington of which he was a faithful member and servant of God. A man of quiet reserve he held the respect and affection of a number of friends who will mourn his passing. He had not enjoyed good health for some time, but was bedfast about four weeks.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and two brothers, George and Wm. Neff. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Story and Mrs. Anna Enderweissen of Farmington, and one niece, Nora Fluckey of Colorado, and one nephew, J. C. Story of Farmington.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Acasto church. Burial in Acasto cemetery.
