Mr. Oscar Alba White passed from this life Jan. 1, 1937, at 6:00 a.m. after six weeks of confinement to his bed. Mr. White had reached the age of 70 years and 2 months.

He was the second of three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Henry White of Clark county, Mo., and was born Oct. 31, 1866. He attended the district school of Clark county, and spent all of his life on a farm in Clark county.

He was united in marriage to Olga Lavina Abernathy on June 21, 1894, at Farmington. To this union were born one daughter, Rena May Cassaidy [sic] of Bonaparte, and three sons, Rollo Hubert of Bonaparte, Harold Leslie and Carroll Esmond [sic] of Farmington. He was affiliated with the Congregational church, joining when a young man.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Ellis, who passed from this life Dec. 29, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., two half-sisters, Ethie May White and Bertie M. White, and one half-brother, Glen Otto White.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, one daughter, three sons, one brother, Wilbur F. White of Ft. Madison, five nephews, two nieces, two grandsons and four granddaughters.

The funeral was held in the Acasto Community church at Acasto, Mo., on Jan. 3, 1937, at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. M. R. Rogers, pastor of the First Baptist church of Farmington. The message was taken from John 14:1-6, entitled, "The Prepared Place For Prepared People. [sic] Two songs were sung by a sextette of the Acasto church. Burial was in the Acasto cemetery.
