JAMES H. WOODEN
----------------
James H. Wooden was born near Cantril, Iowa, Sept. 3, 1871. Here he grew to manhood and was united to Miss Anna Seamans of Keosauqua Oct. 27, 1896. To them were spared two children, a son Jack, and daughter Mrs. S. Short of Mt. Zion. James was for the past year employed at the state prison but falling ill, he was taken to the hospital where an operation was thought necessary and the body was too frail, the resultant shock of the operation left him too weak to rally and he passed away in Ft. Madison Sept. 8th, 1925. Funeral services were conducted in Keosauqua at the Christian church on Wednesday, Sept. 9th, conducted by Rev. Tennant of West Liberty. Interment in the Fellows cemetery.

Jim was a member of the A. F. & A. M. of Milton, and of the I. O. O. F. in Cantril. The Odd Fellows acted as escort and conducted services at the grave. The music was by the choir of the Keosauqua church.
