MT. STERLING
The funeral of Uncle Samuel Blackledge, which occurred last Friday at 1 o'clock, was quite largely attended. The services were held in the Christian church, of which he was a life member. In the death of Father Blackledge the community has lost a man whose life has been one that all men would do well to pattern after. Honest and upright in all his dealings his word went just as far as his note would do and filled the same purpose; had no trouble with his neighbors and all with whom he came in contact respected him. The obsequies were conducted by Evans & McManus, undertakers from Keosauqua and was buried with honors of the Knights Templar order in uniform.
