-------------------------
Charles H. Scott died at his home here Sunday night at 11:45. He had been ailing for several months, and recently paralysis agitans had become so troublesome that his family physician gave up all hope of recovery and Mr. Scott left December 23 for Excelsior Springs, Mo., where he placed himself in charge of Drs. Musgrave & Musgrave. He apparently improved for a little while, but apoplexy set in and the old trouble developed to such an intensity that Mrs. Scott was sent for. She reached Excelsior Springs January 15 and found her husband partially unconscious. He continued to grow worse and accompanied by Mrs. Kate Abbott, a trained nurse from Kansas City, Mrs. Scott brought her husband home Thursday of last week, arriving here on the evening train.

Charles H. Scott, son of Col. O. H. P. Scott, of Civil war fame, and Ellen D. Scott, was born at McConnellsville, Ohio, October 5, 1849, and with his parents came to Farmington in 1855. He lived here practically all of his life except for a short time at St. Joseph, Mo., where his father was a government contractor. Soon after attaining his majority the son engaged in the coal business with his father and continued to operate the old Scott mines north of town until about 1888. Col Scott died in 1880 and a few years later Mrs. Scott moved to town.

Chas. H. Scott was married to Miss Allie C. Wagner Jany 28, 1890. To them were born one son Fay who died at the age of seven years. Mr. and Mrs. Scott for several years have lived with the formers aged mother, the lttter [sic] being practically helpless
