-----------------------
From the McPherson, (Kansas) Republican of Sept. 11, 1908: "Mrs. Rebecca Frances Evans was born in Brown county, O., August 28, 1857, and died at her home on North Chestnut street in this city, Saturday morning, September 6, 1908. She also leaves three brothers, James Middleswartz of near Canton, Kee [sic] of Galva and Joe of Oklahoma. The latter was not permitted to be present at the funeral on account of severe sickness.Mrs. Evans moved from Iowa to Washington state in 1904, where she contracted a lung sickness. She moved to McPherson in 1907 and made her home in this city and in Galva since. The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock and were in charge of Rev. J. M. Todd of the Presbyterian church. The interment was made at McPherson cemetery."
[Mrs. Evans, the deceased above mentioned, was a good woman. She had many friends at Keosauqua and Stockport, where her home was for several years. The family moved from Keosauqua to the state of Washington about three years ago. Her husband was engaged in the furniture business while here and at Stockport. Eds. Republican.]
