MRS. RUTH A. CHAPLIN

Ruth A. Shipley was born June 12, 1878, and died Feb. 1, 1909, aged 30 years, 7 months and 19 days. She was the second daughter of Samuel and Martha Shipley. On Dec. 25, 1898, she was united in marriage to Bert G. Chaplin; to this union were born five children, Bates W., Mary M., Ruby M., Mabel V. and Ruth A. Her father died Jan. 31, 1908, and her mother Nov. 25, 1908. She leaves three brothers and two sisters besides her immediate family to mourn their great loss and the entire community mourn with them in their hour of great sorrow. Funeral services were held at the Chaplin home Wednesday, Feb. 3, where her many relatives and friends gathered to pay their last tribute of respect.

Rev. H. F. Gilbert delivered a short funeral sermon in which he pointed out many thoughts of comfort and solace to the grief stricken family, showing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death to young and old alike, and touching on the many noble traits in the character of the deceased.
