MRS. WILLIAM H. BEQUEATH
Mrs. Charlotte Bequeath died at the family residence at Riverside, on Easter Sunday, after a prolonged illness, her death coming as a peaceful release from the trials and afflictions of this mortal existence and through which she entered upon her everlasting reward in the land of the blessed. Mother Bequeath had reached the ripe age of 72 years, 11 months and 15 days. Her parents were Adam and Ida Sipes Mellott and she was born near Breezewood, East Providence township, on April 31 [sic], 1849. Besides her venerable husband the following children and step children survive: Mrs. Clad Ensley, of Riverside, Harry [L.] Bequeath, of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Simon Karns, of Everett, Rural Route, No. 4; Mrs. William Sigel, Mrs. Iva Baker, Marshall Bequeath, of Youngstown, Ohio; and Enos Bequeath, of Coldwell, Idaho. Three brothers, Adam, Uriah and Samuel Mellott, of East Providence township, and three sisters, Mrs. John Snyder, of Clearville, Mrs. John D. Smith, of Riverside, and Mrs. John Bussard, of Black Valley, also survive. For many years deceased had been a consistent Christian woman and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the home at 9 o'clock on Wednesday, Rev. John J Weaver, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, assisted by Rev. J. H. Bassett, of the Earlston Christian Church, officiating, after which the body was taken to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery for interment.
