Benjamin E. Spurgeon 1866 - 1940s
Burial Rites for B. E. Spurgeon Today
Benjamin Ezekiel Spurgeon died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. H Hughes, after a long illness. Born 21 July 1866, at Farmington, Iowa, he grew up to manhood there and was married to Mary Friel, 18 Dec. 1859.
In 1908 they came to the west, settling first in Cashmere, moving to New Mexico for a time, and returning to Cashmere in 1923 where they have lived ever since. In December, 1939, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and were congratulated by their many friends.
His widow survives him; one daughter Mrs. Hughes, and one son, Carl Spurgeon.
Funeral Services were held today at 2 O’clock from the Baptist Church at Cashmere.

I am not related to this family. The clipping was found in a photo album.
