OBITUARY
Alma Root was born in 1837 in Ohio and came to Iowa in early girlhood, her parents locating at Keokuk in 1854. She was married to John R. Guy in Keokuk, Iowa. A few years later they moved to Keosauqua where she lived with her children while her husband was a soldier in the Civil war. From there they moved to Upton where they lived until 1881, when they moved to Cantril where she remained until her death, June 3, 1924.
Her husband John R. Guy died April 1, 1913.
She leaves one daughter Mrs. Ben Fisher of Cantril. Three children died in infancy. One son, A. B. Guy and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Warner died after reaching middle life. She leaves twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She always had a smile for everyone no matter how she suffered.
