STEPHEN G. DAVIS
Stephen G., son of Isaac P. and Taditha [sic] J. Davis, was born Oct. 11, 1861, on the old Davis homestead in Scotland county, Mo., and passed away Dec. 6, 1933, at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 26 days. He lived in Scotland county during his entire life and lived almost 52 years on the same farm where he passed away.
He was united in marriage to Dora J. Kerr of Mt. Sterling, Iowa, on Nov. 7, 1886. To this union were born four daughters, Mae, Bessie M., Elsie D. and Lela Irene, and one son, Leonard. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Dora, and four daughters, Mrs. Jesse Fritz of Fon du Lac, Wisc., Mrs. J. L. Piper of Mt. Sterling, Mrs. [can't read], Mrs. Phil Morris, and his only son, Leonard, all living on surrounding farms; also twelve grandchildren, two brothers, Marion and Loren of Mt. Sterling; also one sister, Mrs. Jennie Hervey of Mt. Sterling, and a host of other relatives and friends. The children were all present and able to care for him to the last. He was a loving husband and father, a kind neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed.
