MRS. EVANS FELLOWS

Mrs. Alice Fellows, daughter of Vincent and Ellen Walker, was born in Ohio, Sept. 2, 1867, and died at her home in Leando Saturday night, April 13, 1929, age 61 years 7 months and 12 days.

She came to Iowa in early childhood and has lived most of her life in Van Buren county. Her passing from this life was unexpected, not being previously sick, but was found dead in her bed Sunday morning. Her departure has cast a heavy gloom over the entire community.

She was married twice, her second husband, Evans Fellows, preceding her in death three years ago. Mrs. Fellows was a kind mother and a friendly neighbor. For many years she has been an active member of the M. E. church, having served as Sunday School Superintendent and steward.

Six children live to mourn her departure, Mrs. Berth Smith of Ottumwa, Mrs. Grace Pugh of Lake Wales, Florida, Mrs. Mabel Craig of Fairfield, Raymond Lee of Montana, Weldon Lee of Keosauqua and Mrs. Jennie Wilson of Bonaparte; also eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Fannie Haney of Alberta, Canada, and one brother, the Rev. Fred Walker of Colorado. She will be greatly missed in the cimmunity [sic] and in the church by her large circle of friends.

Fuenral [sic] services were held Thursday forenoon from the Leando church conducted by the pastor, the Rev. C. H. Chader, who preached from the text Matthew 25:13, "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the son of man cometh." A quartet composed of Mrs. O. E. Finney, Mrs. Clare McClure, Leslie Swires and Elias Heckart sang three beautiful and comforting selections.

Interment was made in the Fellows cemetery, Keosauqua.

Those attending from abroad besides the children, was Mrs. E. C. Parks of Burlington, Iowa.
