MRS. A. I. ROSS

Sarah Clark Morris was born in Claremount county, Ohio, June 24, 1844, died May 30, 1913, being 68 years, 11 months and 6 days old. She moved with her parents to Van Buren county, Iowa, in 1848, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Abner Newton McCrary of Keosauqua, Iowa, in 1867. To this union were born three children, all living, viz.: Mrs. Maude Van Slyke of Collinsville, Okla.; T. C. McCrary of Altamont, Kansas, and Mrs. Stella Huston of Labette, Kansas. Being left a widow in 1879 she later was married to A. I. Ross in Keosauqua, Iowa, July 19, 1881, and moved to Altamont, Kansas, in 1884, where she had resided until Dec. last, when she moved to her daughter's near Labette. She was the eldest of a large family of children, three of whom survive her, viz.: Howard Morris of Post, Oregon, Mrs. Florence Eberhard of Miles City, Montana, and Bayard T. Morris of Morehead, Kansas. Mrs. Ross was a member of the Christian church until coming to Kansa, then she united with the Baptist church. Funeral services were held at Altamont, May 31, 1913, where a large number of friends and relatives were present. Services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Driver, the burial being at Altamont.
