Mrs. Forbes Died, Sunday

Aged Mother Succumbs After Few Hours Illness

After an illness of only a few short hours, Mrs. Forbes, wife of Andrew Forbes and mother of a large and talented family, died early Sunday morning at the family home south of town.

Mrs. Forbes was 61 years old and during the last week had been suffering from a complication of ailments which fast sapped her vitality and early Sunday morning a ruptured blood vessel on the brain caused her death.

The funeral occurred at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, when her beloved pastor, Rev. Coberly, paid a glowing tribute to the memory of the grand old lady who had spent her useful life in service for her family and friends. None ever entered her home without a warm welcome, or left without feeling the warmth of a genuine hospitality, so characteristic of her life. Adhering to the faith of her fathers she united with the Methodist church in early life and loved to attend its services throughout her life. As advancing years crept upon her she was compelled to give up much of her active work and enjoy the association of her friends and children.

She was born on July 28th, 1852 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Her maiden name was Jennie Kellog. In 1873 she became the wife of Jones D. Bunn of Boulder. Three daughters and a son were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bunn; Mrs. B. C. Fromm and Mrs. Jefferies of this place; Mrs. J. J. Hill and Ed Bunn of Canon City. Her husband, Mr. Bunn, died in 1901 at Crestone, where the family was living at that time. In 1907 Mrs. Bunn became the wife of Andrew Forbes a prosperous farmer of this community. Besides being a faithful member of the Methodist church she belonged to the Women of Woodcraft.

Following impressive services at the grave, the remains were laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery.
