Eurae D. Patterson was born in Van Buren County, Iowa, August 15, 1848, and was married to Andrew Forbes April 21, 1864. To this union were born four sons and three daughters. Two of the latter have preceded the mother to the life beyond.

For many years Mrs. Forbes was a great sufferer, but bore her sufferings with remarkable patience and fortitude, never complaining, seldom discouraged, thought realizing that the end was near. Early in life Mrs. Forbes was converted and joined the M. E. Church, and now leaves the influence of a Christian wife and mother to comfort the bereaved members of the home.

The final summons came Oct. 2, when, surrounded by loving friends she passed away rejoicing in the hope of eternal life.

Funeral services were conducted at the residences by Dr. A. Z. Hall, after which the remains were taken to the former home near Mount Zion, Iowa, for interment.
